Every small business under 50 employees should review the individual & family medical insurance options offered through the WA Health Benefits Exchange
Only 35.7 percent of companies with less than 50 employees offered health insurance to their employees in 2011. Beginning in 2014 Health Care Reform changes everything. However an offer of an Employer Group Health Insurance Plan can remove the Federal Premium Tax Credit (Subsidy) for your employees and their family – eliminating their ability to purchase low cost medical insurance through the WA Health Benefits Exchange.
A new option is emerging - Providing Defined Contributions instead of Defined Benefit Health Plans for employees will also be reviewed.
