Dramatic workplace changes have been occurring well before Covid-19. Technology and automation, and now Covid-19 continues to displace many Washingtonians from their jobs. Many jobs will be permanently lost, while others will morph into jobs requiring more knowledge and technical skills. Overcoming these forces to remain relevant and employable is a challenge many Washingtonians will continue to face even as Covid recedes from the workplace. This is even more of a challenge for experienced workers who are 50 years of age or older, or workers who have been injured and cannot return to their previous job types, especially jobs that were not in an office environment.
